Meet Our Staff

Why we love our job at Advanced PetCare of Northern Nevada.

Kait

Kait

Lead technician/behavior trainer

After graduating from high school in the small town of Newnan, GA, Kait moved to Montana to pursue her passion for horses. Kait attended Montana State University graduating with both an Animal Science/Science and Biology degree in 2000. As a student, Kait became very involved with the local animal shelter and soon redirected her focus towards small animal medicine and care.  While working as an assistant technician with Creekside Veterinary Hospital, Kait applied to take the VTNE and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). Continuing with her field of study as a LVT in Bozeman, MT, Kait began to place more emphasis on special need’s dogs both in and out of the veterinary environment. In 2001, Kait became one of the original founders for Heart of the Valley Humane Society and was responsible for creating their first Behavioral Assessment and Modification Program.
After more than 10 years of working as a veterinary technician in Montana, Kait began expanding her efforts with animal behavior modification outside of the veterinary arena as a dog trainer, pet-sitter and puppy socialization instructor specializing in behavioral modification. Kait began pursuing her Veterinary Technician Specialty-Behavior (VTS-Behavior) in 2009. As part of that pursuit, Kait has attended multiple behavior conferences through the Society for Veterinary Behavior Technicians (SVBT) and currently serves as the Recording Secretary on the SVBT Board. Kait also decided to hone her teaching and dog obedience skills by attending the Karen Pryor Dog Academy and becoming a graduate of the program, a Karen Pyror Certified Trainer (KPCT), in September 2011.

Kait is excited to bring her passion and expertise to the clients and patients of Advanced PetCare. As an LVT and KPCT with Advanced PetCare, Kait intends to continue focusing on the management of environments and modification of behavior both in and out of the hospital to insure that both pets and owners have the most positive experience together possible resulting in her ultimate goal of building and strengthening a solid human/animal bond between pet and owner. Soon Kait will be offering a variety of programs through Advanced PetCare in order to achieve that goal.  Programs to be offered will include individual Behavioral Consultations, Puppy Pre School classes (puppy socialization), Puppy Kindergarten classes, Canine 101 and Clicker Basics.

Coty

Coty

Patient Care Assistant

Love, family, honesty and kindness are key words in my life and at Advanced PetCare I experience all of them. An animal’s love is unconditional and non-judgmental and when you are surrounded by animals with these characteristics you will see that you are surrounded by people with these characteristics as well.

I don’t want to “work” for 60% of my life. I want to help, learn, love and advance for 60% of my life. Working with and helping pets to live the best quality of life allows me to do all of these things instead of just “work.” At Advanced PetCare I have a second family who accepts me, supports me, and encourages me to expand my knowledge and get hands-on experience with what I love.

Sierra

Sierra

Patient Care Assistant

Being raised on a small farm in Fallon, I always had a furry friend by my side. Through 4-H and FFA projects, I came to love a large variety of animals. It was always a dream of mine to work with animal medicine, but it seemed that Northern Nevada wasn’t going to be the place for me to get my feet off the ground. About the time I was looking into a different career field, I found Advanced PetCare. I came in with very little experience and by being surrounded by intelligent and nurturing people, I am continuing to grow more each and every day with my knowledge of providing care and comfort to our beloved pets.

Tina

Patient Care Assistant

Tina has worked with animals all of her life, and she has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician ever since 1996. Not only has she worked with dogs and cats, but she has even professional trained and showed Arabian Horses for five years before becoming a L.V.T. Tina has a passionate love for all animals. In fact, she is proud to own cats, dogs, horses, birds, chickens, ducks, and even a pet spider. She will forever continue to work with animals to help them as well as their owners.

Sierra

Kelly

Patient Care Assistant

Kelly has always wanted to become a veterinarian, and she has been working with animals for over two years. She has had much experience working with animals as a Wildlife Biology Technician as well as an intern at the University of Nevada, Reno Main Station Farm. She is inspired to work with animals because she believes all humans are responsible for pets they claim their own. She enjoys giving medical care to living animals to help ease their pain and suffering. While she attends U.N.R. to receive her Animal Science degree, she enjoys working at Advanced PetCare with her family of team members. Kelly believes that "Animals are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole". She lives in Reno with her two dogs Frankie and KB, and she plans to remain working with animals no matter what.

Sierra

Becca

Patient Care Assistant

I absolutely love the staff and environment here at Advanced Pet Care!  There is a feeling of family that is not commonly found anymore not only between the staff, but also between our clients and patients.  I am currently on my path to Veterinary School and this has been the best stepping stone on my journey.  I have been so blessed to be given this opportunity.  I have learned so much here from the staff, clients, and patients not only about veterinary medicine, but also about relationships, family, and love.

Animals don’t ask for much other than to be loved and cared for.  So much can be learned from them and every day I try to take this opportunity given to me to learn and grow in the work place as well as in life.

Demi

Demi

Client Care Associate

As a child I was not allowed to have pets, but I rescued my first kitty Kimbah five years ago, and I have received unconditional love ever since. Having Kimbah in my life has been an eye opening experience while allowing me to create a bond with him that I have never shared with anyone before. It has also made me realize that it takes hard work and responsibility to keep him happy and healthy. As a first time pet owner I believe that it is very important to have a Veterinarian that will take the time to answer all your questions and treat pets as if they were their own. At Advanced PetCare I am surrounded by professionals who love to come to work every day and strive to provide a great experience for pets and their owners.

Gabriela

Gabriela

Client Care Associate

Growing up I never understood pet care meant vaccines, surgeries, annual exams, and so much more. As most children, I thought my love for my animals was all they needed. I have had dogs, birds, and yes, even chickens! I have had the pleasure of experiencing the unconditional love an animal gives. And although I never understood how to properly care for my animals, I am proud to say I now form part of an amazing team that not only gives good pet care, but gives advanced pet care.

Madison

Client Care Associate

I am currently enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno, and growing up with love for animals has made it easy for me to decide my career path of Animal Science. My goal upon graduation is to get my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine with specialization in surgery, and working at Advanced PetCare has given me the experience and knowledge that I will need to further my goals. In my spare time I enjoy outdoor activities and volunteering with the Nevada Humane Society. I am also currently the treasurer of both the Pre-Veterinary Club and Volleyball Club at U.N.R. Animals surround my everyday life, and my love for them continues to grow with every passing day.
